My Father, Frank Bellinder got me started in bowling. He was a professional bowler and owned a bowling pro shop, so I literally grew up in and around a bowling center. He was also my coach growing up and travelled all over the Country with me to support my bowling.

I love that the sport is ever-changing. You can never know everything there is to know about bowling. Then, when you compete on the lanes, it’s like one giant puzzle that you have to figure out piece by piece. What ball do I use, with what layout, where do I need to stand/aim, with what speed, with what release? There are so many variables. Another thing that intrigues me about the sport is that it’s always different every time you compete. You’re throwing exactly the same ball, the same way, in the same spot and getting the exact same results. And you also can never bowl the exact same game twice. Even when you shoot 300. The strikes may differ, the ball you’re throwing or where you’re standing will differ. So every time you step out on to the lanes, it’s a new experience.

Floretta “Doty” McCutcheon . If you don’t know who she was, look her up. She’s pretty amazing. I remember vividly learning about her when I 1st visited the Bowling Hall of Fame, when it was in St. Louis and I was 14 years old. She not only was ahead of her time for Women competing in the Sport but she also competed against men and won a very famous match against one of the top men bowlers at the time.
